A portal (www.nafcubcoopkumbh2025.com) for the upcoming “CoopKumbh 2025” was launched by Dr. H.K. Patil, Chairman Emeritus NAFCUB and Minister of Law and Justice, Government of Karnataka, along with Sh. Laxmi Dass, President NAFCUB on April 04, 2025 at New Delhi. On the occasion, they invited all the stake holders of cooperative credit sector from all across the country to participate in this International Conference in a large number, which is scheduled to be held on November 08 – 09, 2025, at Vigyan Bhawan in Delhi.
United Nations has declared year 2025 as International Year of Cooperatives. To celebrate this mega event for cooperative credit sector in a befitting manner National Federation of Urban Cooperative Banks and Credit Societies (NAFCUB) is organizing an International Conference of Urban Cooperative Credit Sector “CoopKumbh2025”
Hon’ble Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi is invited to inaugurate and Hon’ble Union Minister for Home and Cooperation will preside. This event aims to bring together cooperative banks, credit societies and all those associated with the sector to discuss and explore opportunities for growth and development.
It’s worth mentioning that NAFCUB has been working to strengthen the urban cooperative credit sector and this international conference is a step towards achieving that goal. The Ministry of Cooperation has also been actively involved in initiatives aimed at strengthening the cooperative movement in the country.
The launch event was attended by Sh. Subhash Gupta, Advisor and Shri Yogesh Sharma, CEO, NAFCUB, Vivek Gupta and Anil Chauhan among others.
The National Federation of Urban Cooperative Banks and Credit Societies (NAFCUB) has officially unveiled the logo for its much-anticipated International Conference of Urban Cooperative Credit Sector – COOPKUMBH2025. The unveiling ceremony took place on 7th February 2025 at NAFCUB’s Head Office in New Delhi, setting the stage for this landmark event scheduled to be held on November 8 – 9, 2025, at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi.
COOPKUMBH2025 is proposed to be inaugurated by Hon’ble Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi and presided over by Hon’ble Union Home and Cooperation Minister Shri Amit Shah.
Sh. Laxmi Dass while inaugurated the Logo highlighted the need for all cooperative stakeholders to actively participate in COOP KUMBH 2025, ensuring its success as a transformative platform for the sector.
He stressed the importance of collective efforts in advancing cooperative banking, reinforcing its role as an engine for financial empowerment and rural development.
Sh. O.P. Sharma echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the need for an inclusive and collaborative approach to strengthen the cooperative movement. He urged cooperative institutions to engage with emerging technologies, financial reforms, and policy advancements to keep pace with global banking trends.
This International Conference is being organized under the aegis of NAFCUB, with the inspiration and support of the Ministry of Cooperation, Government of India. The event aligns with the International Year of Cooperatives as declared by the United Nations, reinforcing the global significance of the cooperative movement. The conference aims to foster collaboration, recognize sectoral efforts, and enhance public awareness about the role and potential of the urban cooperative credit sector in driving financial inclusion and socio-economic development.
As the world’s largest democracy, India has witnessed an ever-growing cooperative movement that has played a crucial role in economic empowerment and community development. The cooperative banking and credit sector, in particular, has proven to be a sustainable financial model, enabling millions to access credit and financial services. NAFCUB’s vision for COOPKUMBH2025 is to bring together industry leaders, policymakers, and global experts to explore innovations, policy frameworks, and best practices to strengthen and expand the sector.
The logo was unveiled by Sh. Laxmi Dass, President, NAFCUB and Sh. O. P. Sharma, Director NAFCUB, and Chairman Panipat UrbanCooperative Bank Ltd. Sh. Subhas Gupta, Advisor, NAFCUB and other staff members were also present during the unveiling ceremony.
COOPKUMBH2025 is expected to host renowned policymakers, banking leaders, financial experts, and representatives from global cooperative institutions viz. UN, ICA, WOCCU, Rabobank, IRU, BCCM and from various other countries. The conference will feature High-level panel discussions on the future of urban cooperative credit sector, Knowledge-sharing sessions on financial inclusion and digitization, Networking opportunities with global industry leaders and policymakers, Showcase of innovations in cooperative banking and financial services and related issues.
This landmark event is envisioned as a catalyst for meaningful discussions, strategic partnerships, and policy recommendations to drive the sustainable growth of urban cooperative credit societies in India and beyond.
